Nikolai Fuchs is the leader of the Section for Agriculture at the Goetheanum, Switzerland. In that capacity he is very much involved in bringing the deeper questions of biodynamics into practical life.

Nikolai Fuchs was born in 1963 and after completing an agricultural apprenticeship, studied agronomy in Bonn before working in environmental training programmes. He was a teacher of agriculture in the north German town of Lübeck, did his national service in the Department for the Protection of Nature in Wuppertal. He studied agriculture in Bonn and has diverse practical experience in the field and in administration at home and abroad. For three years he was advisor and general manager of Demeter Nordrhein-Westfalen and for five years he was director of the Research Institute for Biodynamics in Darmstadt. In recent years he has been researching the social implications of Biodynamic Agriculture and he works closely with Florian Lieber who is currently engaged in making known the scientific character of the approach.

In July this year he was principal speaker at the Conference of the Anthroposophical Society in New Zealand
